Frequently Asked Questions - Jetskis

1. What's the difference between a Jetski and waverunner?
Really nothing. Think: Ford, Chevy, Chrysler. They all have the same functions, just look a little different. We refer to one or all throughout this website but we are always talking about the 3 seater personal watercrafts.

2. Are the prices of your Jetski rentals at Paradise Watersports per person?
No, not at all! The prices listed are per watercraft not per person so they include the Jetski driver and up to two additional people, depending on their size and the total combined weight.

3. Can we take the Jetskis anywhere we want in Ocean City?
This is the second most asked question. Maryland requires that any rental Jetski stay within visible sight of our highly trailed guides (they are there for your safety.) Luckily enough, our guides have great eyesight and we have the largest riding area in Maryland with no other rental companies in sight!!! This means that each trip has a personal lifeguard (or two or three) for the duration of your adventure and you won't have to worry about any other rental companies sharing the same space. If you are renting the Jetskis at our Paradise Watersports Marina, you may be lucky enough to see dolphins near our riding area as many of our customers witnessed every season.

4. Does the instruction time count as part of my driving time?
No way! Your Paradise Watersports Jetski adventure does not begin until you physically leave our docks heading out for the water! By the time you get back, we promise you'll agree that of all the many things to do in Ocean City Maryland, Jetski rentals are one of the most fun and memorable attractions!

5. What is the minimum age to rent a Jetski in Ocean City, Maryland?
You must be 16 years of age to actually rent Jetskis in Ocean City, “BUT” you must have a parent or guardian sign for you if you are under the age of 18. All operators must present a valid photo ID with birthdate, and must complete a Boater Safety course (see next FAQ). If you do not have a driver’s license or other photo ID, we suggest you obtain a state ID card from your local Department of Motor Vehicles prior to your vacation. (If you left your ID at home, that's not a problem! We have a fax machine so that a friend or loved one can fax a copy of your ID directly to our office to confirm your age and identity and get you out on the water!!)

6. Where do I go to take the Boater Safety course?
The Boater Safety course can be completed at our Paradise Watersports Marina, located on the docks of Hooper’s Crab House. It takes around 15-30 minutes to complete the course, and it is “open book” with the answers right in front of you so there are no excuses to get any wrong! This course is temporary and only works while under the supervision of our guides for the hour that you reserved. If you decide you would like to come back another time and rent from us again, unfortunately state law requires us to re-administer the test (but that’s okay, by then you should be a Jetski guru!) We ask that if you are renting a Jetski from us to please arrive “at least” 30 minutes prior to your reservation time to get squared away and complete proper testing.

If we can, we will, please call or come by.
